Battle of the Atlantic, Commemoration | Victoria, BC

The Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, salutes hundreds of proud Royal Canadian Navy personnel in commemoration of the Battle of the Atlantic.   This local  event – under a national memorial context – took place on a beautiful sunny day in Victoria, BC, along the Pacific coastline.   Celebrating a life of honour and sacrifice performed in the name of others for liberty and freedom is indeed righteous and worthy of remembrance.

Irish Film Festival Ottawa, 2017 | Arts Court Theatre

This past weekend I had an awesome time photographing the Irish Film Festival in Ottawa at the Arts Court Theatre.   The events drew sold out crowds with distinguished guests such as:  Tara Lee, Irish actress and singer-songwriter; Jim Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland; and Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, in attendance.    Among the highlights for me was learning more about Irish films; watching everyone get super excited about “Tayto” chips being on the snack menu; taking a fun group picture with all the kids in attendance; and, photographing some very talented young girls performing a few Irish dances – they can really jump and tap!   If you’re looking for images from the weekend, you can find them here on my Facebook page.

Love the Irish Colours!

A big congratulations to the organizing and volunteer teams!
