Two words: Classic and awesome – now let’s drive! 🙂
The Kwakwaka’wakw Totem Pole at Thunderbird Park in Victoria, Canada, was carved by Sean Whonnock and Johnathan Henderson. This honouring pole is dedicated to the Coast Salish people on whose ancestral lands Thunderbrid Park is located.
A rainy day in Coal Harbour with storm clouds sweeping across the horizon. This image was taken with my new 165mm Format Hitech Lucroit neutral density filter kit, and dialed up with some Adobe Photoshop CS6 poster edging.
An early morning scene of moored boats, marked by a still sea and a moving sky.
On New Year’s Eve my wife and I took a moment at 20:17 in Ottawa to enjoy the Tower of Victory and Peace at Canada’s Parliament, and reflect upon Canada’s 150th year ahead. With snow falling, fireworks ascending, and the national anthem in play, O Canada, then and there we saw how in deed we are the True North strong and free…Des plus brillants exploits. #Canada150
My beautiful wife glowing with sunshine in a spectacular field of sunflowers near Sainte-Agathe-Des Monts, Québec. Stéphanie and I were on our way to Mont-Tremblant to connect with “Le P’tit Train du Nord” bike path when we saw this beautiful opportunity. Photography Motto #54892: Never be shy or hesitant to safely bring your car to a stop on the side of a rural highway, and seize the moment to take a countryside photo! Seize the photography moments as they come, rather than “on the way back.”
If you ever find yourself in Labelle, Québec (A.K.A. in La Belle Province), then I would highly recommend you check out La Gare Auberge Restaurant Bar. Hands down (or up as the case may be) this place serves amazing food. On the menu for me was simply the best homemade style fish ‘n chips I’ve had all summer, and the local charm was pretty nice too! A postcard destination for sure!
Nighttime photography with radial star bursts and ferris wheel motion – weeeeeeee

Photographed using the new Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM (at 13mm) – spectacularly awesome!
This picture was taken at 13mm.
I know I shouldn’t play with my food, but sometimes I just can’t resist photographing it!
Hi everyone, with great excitement I’ve entered the 2014 Cock Show contest, hosted by Atomic Rooster Bar and Bistro in downtown Ottawa. Next to promoting the celebration of rooster inspired art, my submission allows me to honour the memory of my late maternal grandfather – a master welder – who created the metal rooster featured in this photo. As for the metal bird, it now stands ever so proudly in my living room, and without any hesitation it would be the one item I would risk my life to save if my house ever caught fire (along with my camera of course, 😉 ). So, if you’re free on Tuesday evening, feel free to join me at Atomic for a vernissage, or check out the exhibit which runs from September 21st to October 26th.
