Ah, my favourite time of year…when nature rewards us with deep yellows and oranges, as a thank you no less, for our earlier long summer days of hard work in the green.

I’m pretty sure I could make the swim,….but to keep things warm and dry, I just pull out the trusty telephoto and snap this one a few hundred meters back.   Wonderful exercise; just wonderful!   😉

Halifax Public Gardens | Canada 150+

Enjoying a super relaxing afternoon at the Halifax Public Gardens with my wonderful wife, some warm sunshine, and a fully charged camera. 😉

A Haida Totem Pole (left) and Kwakwaka’wakw Totem Pole (right) at Thunderbird Park in Victoria, Canada

Towering just above the tree line, and reaching into the clouds, are two beautiful totem poles honouring the Haida and Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations cultures in Victoria, British Columbia.   The Haida Pole (left) was carved in 1984 by Gerry Marks, Richard Hunt and Tim Paul.   The Kwakwaka’wakw Pole (right) was carved in 1981 by Tony Hunt.

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan | In search of the Northern Lights

An old tractor beaming under a moving display of Northern Lights and frozen in time. This photograph was taken at 03:07 a.m. along Canam Highway 2 in Northern Saskatchewan, on the outskirts of Prince Albert, with a Canon EF 70-200mm usm lens at 145mm and an aperture of f/2.8.

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan | In search of the Northern Lights

Enjoying the northern lights and a bevy of stars on the outskirts of Prince Albert — the thrid largest city in Saskatchewan. To my distant left the howl of a wolf dials up the volume of a spectacular moment while a low hanging crescent moon gently shines over my right shoulder to light up the foreground of a farmer’s field.  And with all that my camera and I felt perfect alignment. This image was taken with a Canon EF 11-24mm usm lens at 11mm and an f/10 aperture.
