Ottawa Sports Photography for Athletes, Teams, and Clubs

Ottawa Youth Basketball Photography

This basketball photography collection features athletes from the Ottawa Shooting Stars program and regional showcase events throughout Ottawa. The gallery includes high-speed game action, team photography, athlete portraits, tournament coverage, and individual player imagery designed to highlight skill, determination, and athletic achievement.

Sports photography requires precise timing and an understanding of the game to capture key moments such as jump shots, defensive pressure, rebounds, drives to the basket, and celebrations. Whether documenting a youth tournament, creating promotional content for a club, or producing athlete portraits for recruitment and social media, each image is created to tell the story of the player and the team.

As an Ottawa sports photographer, I work with athletes, coaches, clubs, and organizations throughout the National Capital Region to create professional imagery that preserves important moments and showcases athletic performance.

Kanata Fencing Club – Action, Coaching, and Team Photography

This fencing photography series highlights athletes, coaches, and training sessions at Kanata Fencing Club, one of the leading fencing organizations in the Ottawa region. The collection captures the speed, strategy, precision, and discipline that define the sport, from explosive foil attacks and defensive movements to coaching sessions and team portraits.

Photographing fencing presents unique challenges due to the fast pace of competition and the importance of timing. Each image focuses on decisive moments that showcase technique, athleticism, and concentration. Alongside action photographs, this gallery includes coach portraits, club imagery, and team photographs that celebrate the community and culture of fencing.

These images help athletes, clubs, and organizations promote their programs while documenting the dedication and growth of young competitors within Ottawa's fencing community.

This martial arts photography collection features students and instructors from KTK Arts Martiaux and showcases both action photography and creative athlete portraiture. The gallery includes kata demonstrations, traditional techniques, kicking drills, instructor portraits, and stylized portrait sessions inspired by Japanese design elements.

Martial arts photography combines technical precision with visual storytelling. Every movement carries intention, discipline, and years of training. Through careful lighting and composition, these images emphasize both the athletic and artistic aspects of karate, capturing moments of focus, balance, strength, and control.

These portraits and action photographs are designed for athletes, instructors, clubs, and organizations seeking professional imagery for websites, promotional materials, social media, competition profiles, and marketing campaigns. The result is a collection that reflects the spirit of Ottawa's martial arts community while celebrating individual achievement.

Ottawa Sports Photography FAQ

How much do you charge for sports photography?

Sports photography pricing depends on the type of event, number of athletes, and deliverables required. Individual athlete sessions typically range from $250 to $750, while team, league, and tournament coverage is quoted based on the scope of coverage, number of participants, and image requirements.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept e-transfer, debit, and major credit cards. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.5% processing fee charged by the payment processor.

Do you travel for sessions?

Yes. Travel throughout Ottawa and Gatineau is included, and I am available for assignments across Canada. I have photographed events and projects in cities including Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, and regularly work on location for clients requiring coverage beyond the National Capital Region. You can view my full service area on the Service Area page.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Most galleries are delivered within 5-10 days. When images are needed for media, marketing, publication, or social media purposes, expedited delivery is often available. Weddings and events typically include a sneak peek gallery within 48 hours.

How long does a sports session take?

Sports coverage is typically planned around the event itself and often includes the full game or competition. Depending on your needs, coverage can also include warm-ups, team photographs, individual athlete portraits, post-game celebrations, award presentations, and other moments that help tell the complete story of the event.

How many photos will I receive?

The number of images delivered depends on the type and length of your session. Rather than working toward a specific photo count, I focus on capturing the moments that matter and delivering a carefully curated gallery of professionally edited images. My goal is for you to receive the strongest photographs from your session, not just the largest number of files.

How do I receive my photos?

You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view, share, and download your images in high resolution. Galleries are optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, making it easy to access your photographs whether you are sharing them with family, friends, colleagues, or your marketing team.

What’s included in a session?

Every session includes guided posing, real‑time image review and approval via a tablet, professional lighting, fully edited images, and a private online gallery for viewing and downloading your photographs. Being able to see your images as we shoot allows you to adjust your pose or expression if desired, and ensures you can select the photos you like most.

Do you edit all the photos?

Yes. Every image delivered in your final gallery is carefully reviewed and professionally edited for color, exposure, tone, and clarity. My goal is to ensure your photographs look polished, consistent, and true to the moment.

Do you photograph team photos or individual athlete portraits?

Yes. Team photographs and individual athlete portraits can be arranged before or after games, practices, tournaments, and other sporting events. Whether you are looking for traditional team photos, individual player portraits, or something a little more creative, I am happy to work with coaches, athletes, and parents to create images that fit your goals.

Do you shoot fast‑moving sports like hockey or soccer?

Yes. Fast-moving sports require quick reflexes, anticipation, and equipment designed specifically for action photography. I use professional-grade cameras and telephoto lenses capable of tracking high-speed movement, helping me capture the moments that often happen in fractions of a second.

Do you do videos as well?

Yes — however, my primary focus is photography. I have all the equipment needed for videography, so I can provide short video clips for certain projects when requested. For full video production, I can handle videography while my business partner focuses on the photography. You can see the full list of equipment I use on my My Gear page.

Can you handle low‑light indoor arenas?

Absolutely. Indoor arenas often present some of the most challenging lighting conditions in photography. I use professional-grade cameras and lenses designed for low-light performance, allowing me to capture fast action while maintaining sharp, clean images and natural-looking colours.
